Inspired by the serenity of the contemplative landscape, I am a watermedia artist who works in watercolor, alcohol ink, India ink, and acrylic. I am equally comfortable with colour and with bold black and white statements. The interplay of colour and light is what I try to express in my paintings. Preferred subjects are florals, landscapes, and architecture, inspired by the Georgian Bay area, and by my global travels.
Painting is the best way I know to be fully in the moment, completely absorbed in bringing to life for others the perfect moment of light and colour that All-That-Is has blessed us with being able to see. I have always felt that we are meant to recognize that there is beauty in the world; why else would we appreciate a sunset or a field of flowers? My work gives people access to a moment of joy, something they recognize intuitively or have experienced, but are unable to recreate for themselves.
Currently residing in Wasaga Beach in the Georgian Bay area, my art has found homes in private collections throughout Canada, United States, and Europe. I am not content with one style; my art evolves continually as I work in different media. I hope my creations bring you as much joy and a sense of peace as they do for me.
